“Next to the Word of God, the noble art of music is the greatest treasure in the world.”
– Martin Luther

Music at Hope Presbyterian Church celebrates the rich tradition of music as a central part of worship. Music featured in Worship encompasses a wide range of traditional styles and celebrates the individual contribution to ensemble worship. In addition to our Chancel Choir and Bells of Hope, we also feature solos and ensembles to guide and enhance the worship experience. Please contact Director of Music Philip King (philipkingpiano@gmail.com) or Hope Church Office at 863-324-6382 if you are interested in participating or sharing your musical gifts as a part of worship.
CHANCEL CHOIR
Rehearsals: Wednesdays 7:00 pm-8:30 pm (September through May)
The Chancel Choir provides special music and leads congregational singing each week for the Sunday morning worship service. The choir sings a wide variety of choral literature and performs a cantata during the Advent and Easter seasons. All singers age 14 and up are welcome to join. New singers are welcome at any time of the year. For those who love singing, it is a joyful way to share in the grand tradition of choral music, as well as exploring new, modern repertoire. Please contact Director of Music Philip King (philipkingpiano@gmail.com) for any further information.
BELLS OF HOPE
Rehearsals: Wednesdays 6:00 pm-7:00 pm (October through April)
The Bells of Hope provide special music 2-3 times a year for the Sunday morning worship service. Those wishing to share their gifts with the handbell choir should be prepared with some music reading experience, or should be enthusiastic to learn basic music reading skills. The repertoire explores a variety of styles and performance techniques, and performances are scheduled with the ringers’ schedules and comfort in mind. Ringers aged 14 and up are welcome to join at the beginning of each rehearsal process (either at the beginning of the year, or after each performance during the year). Please contact Director of Music Philip King (philipkingpiano@gmail.com) for any further information.
UKE GOT HOPE – UKULELE
As a very accessible instrument, Hope Church has developed a tight group of ukulele players. Most learn to play after about 10 minutes of instruction. Hope Church members have been greeted with the soft sounds of ukuleles accompanied by voices lifted in Church Services, Church events, and even Christmas carols. If you are already a ukulele enthusiast or just interested in learning the ukulele contact the Hope Church Office at 863-324-6382
